A selection of the Traditional Pork Breeds that we offer:- British Lop: The rarest of our pig breeds, originating from Devon / Cornwall. Succulent, high quality meat, used for both pork and bacon.

- British Saddleback: A black pig with a white saddle around the shoulders, from the Dorset/Hampshire borders and Essex. Gices top quality meat, for pork or bacon.
- Gloucestershire Old Spots: From the vale of the River Severn, this old breed was traditionally kept in orchards, so that the local folklore has it that the black spots were bruises caused by windfall fruit. Delicious sweet, well marbled meat, for pork or bacon. We think this is how traditional pork should be.
- Large Black: A west country breed which is renowned for its hardiness and mothering abilities. The black skin protects it from sunburn. Good flavour, succulent meat for pork & bacon.
- Tamworth: A ginger coloured pig with full flavour, originating from the Midlands.
Tavern Tasty Rare Breed Pork is slowly matured, additive free, with a great taste and crackling to die for!
All pork products are made with rare breed pork, slowly grown on antibiotic-free
food.
